Hi! I'm Kristen, and I am so incredibly psyched at being able to bring Action Dolls to the market! The Boy Story idea was one I came up with while pulling my hair out trying to find a cool doll for my sons. It's impossible. I finally said enough is enough after I bought a $175 doll from Europe that was dressed kind of cool but had very girly hair and facial features. My son took one look at it and asked what "her" name was. Enough! But I couldn't make Boy Story happen alone, that's for sure. I had the idea and some savings, but absolutely no time. I'm a mother of two young boys and a full time lawyer working overseas, so I turned to my best friend and sister, Katie, to see if she believed in this idea too. Not only did she believe in it, she quit her job and went full time into making Boy Story become a reality! Now that's commitment to the dream. I hope you and your children love our Action Dolls. I'd love to hear from you, so feel free to drop me a line or tweet anytime @kristenmj.

With a love for kids and all things fun, a background in design, and a burning desire to make a positive difference, Boy Story couldn't have been a more perfect fit for me! As soon as my sister Kristen told me about her dilemma trying to find a cool, companion-like toy for her oldest son and her wish to change the harmful stereotype that boys can not play with dolls, I knew that we had to do something about it. I believe whole heartedly that children should be able to learn, play, and imagine equally with no limit based on gender. With the idea on the table, and my mind set out to change this, I took off sketching, coming up with our initial design concepts and the first two rough drafts of our dolls. Shortly after, I left my job and dedicated myself full time to making Boy Story and our Action Dolls a reality. My B.A. in Interior Design and previous work experience has given me the skills needed to drive our company's creative direction, and I am excited to say that I am learning and growing with this company every day. Another important part of Boy Story's mission is our plan to give back. One of the first things that we both insisted upon when setting up our partnership was that we would be actively giving a portion of our profits to select Children's Charities. Our hearts are all in and we hope yours will be too! Feel free to reach out to me through our contact page, our social media platforms, or tweet me @katieajarvis.
When I first learned of the Boy Story project, I was excited for the opportunity to work with Kristen and Katie to help illustrate their ideas to life. I have believed in their mission from the start. As the father of three, and a lead 3D digital sculptor in the toy industry for LF Creative Group, I am glad to see that this market is expanding. My youngest, a boy, will often choose one of his sister’s baby dolls to talk to, play with and carry around. One of Boy Story’s Action Dolls would be the perfect, cool, companion-like toy to accompany him and his sisters on adventures as they get older. Join in the fun!
When Koi Factory first got in touch with the Boy Story project, we were amazed at the innovation behind the dolls and books. We are honored to work with Katie and Kristen in creating the illustrations for the book "Billy". Koi is happy to be able to participate in this diverse project that has so much to offer kids today.
